life's funny, and so great

i told a friend the other day that i haven't blogged much lately because i am not crafting much. well, ya know my blog is called kat craft fever. oh, i still have the fever, but something funny is happening with it lately. i'm stumbling on it. i'm unfocused with it, truly not by my own design. i start projects, with a pattern in mind and something craps out along the way. the yarn doesn't seem to fit the pattern, the sizing is wrong for me, the sizing is wrong even if i guage it. now that's a bummer. i need projects. i constantly have projects, and reading material (as a total aside) readily available for those moments i can totally focus on them, such as being at karate class. all in all i have knit about 7 fingerless gloves and 3 cowls. i have ripped out (frogged) 7 fingerless gloves and 3 cowls. so, i'm stumbling. i'm also apathetic for some reason. i finished my sweater, my first sweater ever! i bought 3 beautiful hand pressed glass buttons, and all i have left to do is sew them on the sweater. it's been sitting in a bag for months. whatever. i'm not stressed by it. when i feel the urge to make, i will go with it. what i'm really focused on right now is food and movement. moving my body that is. the yoga and the hooping. but, oh goodness, it's been so much more than that. a long connected trail of dots being connected to other dots. the end result is how good i feel. it's crazy how things are connected to each other. i would read about a specific diet in a book about anger. i would hear about the same specific diet in a yoga dvd. a musician we love listening to is a yogi, and then i discover how much i love the yoga he practices. one of my other favorite musicians has a cd for my new favorite yoga practice. you see how this is going. it's all connected. hello? i'm listening and having a great time doing so. i know i sound corny, but it feels good to feel good. i could blather on about how these things have been swirling together in my life, but i'm hungry and i want to go hang out with my family so how about some of my favorite links (besides my other 2 favorites i posted about last time :) ) - i love what the organic sister has to say lately. really makes you pause and think. she nails it! -the kind diet by alicia silverstone is such a comprehensive, down to earth book about going vegan. it's a must have for me! -gabrielle roth has a cd for your jivamukti yoga practice, i'm patiently waiting for my copy -i love the creative way emily recycles clothes! i need some sewing time -we made these in one our homeschool groups this week, the can be hats, bowls or rugs depending on how tight your weave is i hope everyone has a great weekend, it's beautiful here. don't hate us, we'll have lots more chilly and rainy days before our beautiful summer arrives :edited to add hula hoop rugs!

Ooh lovely! I think it's so important to listen to your body, and do what it wants to do for a while! It's been so sunny here, but still coldish, so I've been heading out to the woods for runs almost every day, it's so great! Keep smiling and enjoying life, Kat. x
