super finds!

moving to a chillier climate has made me crave totally different materials in my life, not only what i wear, but what i surround myself with in my home. that's why my felted sweater chairs and knitted and felted pillows work so well here. they would have been way too warm back on the coast of virginia.

i was so excited to find a stack of these beautiful little wooden bowls at the thrift shop the other day, for only 50 cents each! what a steal :) they are beautiful, warm to the touch and the perfect dish for children to handle, i'm so over plastic.

i've noticed i am more drawn to stoneware here (such as the above striped bowl). almost all of our plates are stoneware and i even scored some hand thrown wine goblets, which i love some of our local pinot noirs in. did you know our valley is known for our pinot noirs and pinot gris? this rainy, chilly weather is great for lots of things!

speaking of hand thrown, i've never shared my favorite hot tea mug. it's made by a local potter who is the homeschool clay teacher, as well as teacher of many adult and child classes at the art center. she's super bad ass too and skate's on the sick town derby dames.
i love the black and white stripes, the feel of the mug and how the design looks like a heart.
i heart my mug!
