the ebb and flow

standing behind our house, looking down to the 2nd level of the yard where the creek is. there is a bridge over the creek. beyond that driveway that goes over the bridge is all woods. and trees, and trees.

i do yoga every morning facing this amazing view ( i should really get a better picture that will do it justice!) i breathe in all of the wonder mother nature has placed here for me to enjoy...all of the trees, the plants and the animals that inhabit this amazing ecosystem. we see deer on a regular basis, rabbits, owls, skunks, hawks, snakes, bats and the occasional raccoon, and a huge array of birds.

it comforts and soothes me. it reminds me that life continues and
in all it's simplicity, it's beautiful.

we lost a huge tree on our property this past winter. with all of our rain the root system right next to the creek could no longer support the amazing tree and it slowly fell, over the course of days. before it took it's final fall, chris trimmed it so it would not damage the house. and once it had made it's final fall, our landlord hired a friend of ours to cut up the tree. we thought our friend was going to take the wood for her stove, but the wood sat until marley and chris decided to make a little hobbit house. it makes everyone smile, and we all go back to that place in our minds and memories where our amazing forests hold special connections to us, and even in it's simplest forms, it's beautiful.
